People in Mexico adopted this product on their own. Growth has been organic, the brand is loved and there's an ambassador community that promotes it for free. Keeping that momentum as AI changes how people create is now the job.
Mexico is one of the company's largest markets worldwide, and there is far more room to grow. You'll own it end to end: monthly active users, recurring revenue, the budget and the in-country team. The work is to keep users and revenue growing together, with a small team that you lead from inside the work.
This is a hands-on seat. You'll be in the numbers, with partners and ministries, and with your team, not steering from a distance.
Why we're hiring this role now
The company moved from a fully matrix model to country leaders who own their markets, with the in-country team, marketing included, reporting to them. The previous Country Manager moved into a broader international role, and an interim lead is covering the market until this seat is filled.
What's in it for you
Real ownership of a country. You'll write and run the multi-year growth strategy, own MAUs and ARR, and decide where the budget goes.
The team is small, around 20 people, with a lot still to build. Education is a strong vertical, and government, partnerships and community are open levers you'll get to shape.
The role is hybrid in Mexico City, with an equity package, inclusive parental leave, a yearly wellbeing and home-office allowance, and flexible leave.
What you'll do
Build and execute a multi-year growth strategy for Mexico, owning MAUs and ARR, and make a clear case for Mexico's priorities with teams across the company.
Read the full funnel, from activation to trial-to-paid, and turn the market's MAU and ARR goals into clear expectations for each role on your team.
Lead the in-country team, with clear expectations and a high standard for every role, including hiring.
Shape the marketing strategy and budget with the local team and the marketing lead.
Work with the local team to localize the product for knowledge workers, SMBs, students, startups, and NGOs.
Use your network to open partnerships and attract talent, and build relationships with government, ministries, education and enterprise partners.
Grow the ambassador community and represent the company with press and at events.
Team and reporting
You'll report to the Head of Latin America.
The in-country team, including Mexico marketing, reports to you. Product and roadmap sit with global teams, and you'll bring them the local insight.
Mexico also supports a group of smaller Spanish-speaking markets in the region (such as Colombia, Peru, Costa Rica and Panama) with light localization of its work.
Sales and customer success are separate teams: you'll partner with them, not manage them.
You're a fit if you have
Must-haves

A clear, decisive leadership style: you set direction and hold a high standard across the team.
A hands-on style that works with a small team: you do the work, not only direct it.
A strong network in Mexico's business community: people want to work with you, which helps you attract talent and open partnerships.
Comfort owning a market while product, pricing and roadmap are set globally, with the seniority to tell leadership what should change and why.
